It is only January but if we should elect the boot of the year, our choice here at Eskiador would already be made, it would be the Hawx Ultra from Atomic ! Why ? It is light as touring boot, it has a full heatmoldable liner and a custom shell, a very precise fit and un unbelievable comfort.
A narrow and precise fit
We have known the Hawx for many years, but this year, the Hawx range gets bigger with the new Ultra, a more precise, narrower fit boot, it is 98mm wide, so closer to the foot. Marketed as an All-Mountain boot by the brand, we could also put it in the race category as it feels like it when you carve and go at full speed. Nevertheless, it is very comfortable everywhere on the mountain.
Light as a touring boot
The mixed-material shell (plastic and carbon) "Progressive Shell" is reinforced in strategic places and slimmed everywhere else to significantly decrease the weight of the boot, without losing the natural flex of the boot and making it fragile. A real lightweight, what a pleasure !
Custom liner and shell !
The new Memory Fit 3D liner will take the shape of your foot by a heatmoulding process to gain precision but mostly comfort. The shell can be customized by heating it up to give you room where you need it. A top of the range liner and shell with fine materials... It should last a while ! To this, we add a beautiful power strap for better elasticity and rebound, 4 micrometric buckles and you get an amazing boot that will make its mark in the history of ski boots !
