What is bootfitting ?
Bootfitting is a service offered in ski shops for clients who wish to customize their ski boots to their own foot shape and ski practices. This process is based on three criteria specific for each client to be defined : the ski boot shell, the custom insoles, and the right socks.
In order to choose the right shell, the professional identifies the skier’s foot volume and shape, as well as their level and practice of skiing (ski touring, alpine skiing, down hill skiing, etc).
Whenever a client cannot find their perfect shoe, the ski boot’s shell needs to be altered as a means to fit their morphological needs. To do so, the professional uses the appropriate solution among thermoforming of the liner and the shell, padding of the liners, pressuring of the liner using tools such as alligator clips or using thermoforming liner. This molding process results in 100% customized ski boots for better performance, and ultimate comfort of the skier.
Bootfitting in our ski shop in Val Thorens
At Eskiador Sport 2000, in the Pierre et Vacances of the Temples du Soleil Val Thorens, we have two bootfitting technicians qualified from SIDAS, the foot comfort and performance specialists. Yoann and Sébastien are two trained skiman with 15 and 10 years of bootfitting expertise. Louis recently joined Eskiador ski shop as a skiman and now completes the bootfitting team. The strength of having three boot-sellers, and bootfitters means excellent availability to model your ski boots without any appointments. The team welcomes you anytime of the day and our motto is to find the perfect shoe for you !
Eskiador sport 2000, works along with SIDAS and PALAU using all bootfitting methods. The ski shop offers a choice of 20 ski boots for men, and a total of 15 pairs of boots for women covering all foot types. Each client is offered 4 different ski boots according to their foot morphology, and after analysing the client’s needs, a bootfitting strategy is offered by our technician.
