COOL KIDS SNOWBOARD

Last year in Val Thorens, we have witnessed a real boom in kid’s snowboarding. The ski lifts being closed, children had to find new ways to stay entertained and have fun with the snow!

The “magic carpets” in the heart of the resort played a big role in the development of snowboarding for kids here in Val Thorens – being able to go up and down the beginner area easily and for free was the perfect opportunity to get started safely!

At Eskiador shop, we consequently faced a huge demand for junior snowboard rental. Since so many kids got into snowboarding last year, we are hoping to see them back at it this season, and we prepared for it! To anticipate the growing demand, we decided to expand our rental fleet to add more junior boards of all sizes. We have just received our brand new Burton junior snowboards – ready to go for a ride. Look how cool they are!

Is it a good idea to let your child try snowboard?

Mistakenly considered more dangerous than skiing for a long time, it is in fact just as safe! There is no minimum age for kids to start snowboarding, as long as they can stay up by themselves and are able to walk – and willing to do it obviously! There is also no need to know how to ski beforehand, both disciplines are very different, and will give different sensations… it is just a matter of personal preference for each rider.
