Even though temperatures have been rising significantly over the past few days and the sun is shining, there is still plenty of snow on the Val Thorens ski area. Val Thorens, among the last resorts open this season

While most ski resorts closed their ski areas in March or April, Val Thorens is extending the season. As every year, Europe’s highest resort welcomes skiers until early May. The Val Thorens Orelle area remains open until May 3rd, and most slopes are still accessible, as well as pedestrian trails.

If you want to ski in the sunshine at over 2,000 meters altitude, this is your last chance to enjoy it for the 2025–2026 season!

La Grande Dernière, the closing event not to be missed

On Saturday, May 2nd, Val Thorens will come alive with “La Grande Dernière,” marking the end of the season. It’s the perfect opportunity to combine skiing and festivities, with many free activities, such as the Big Der’ race, the Waterslide, a large raffle, and more. It’s a truly friendly event to share and a chance to hit the slopes one last time before putting your skis away. All the information is available on the Tourist Office website.
